Yoga & Somatics
Movement for the body. Space for the mind.
Yoga has been a huge part of my life for over 25 years and I’m currently completing my 200-hour yoga teacher training.
I currently offer yoga classes in Wickersley, Kiveton Park and Todwick. These are open to everyone and suitable for all levels, including complete beginners.
My training as a Clinical Psychologist brings an additional perspective to my yoga teaching. With an understanding of the relationship between the mind and body, I aim to use this to create classes that encourage curiosity, self-awareness and choice rather than focusing on getting things “right”.
I also draw on somatic practice — an approach that uses movement and body awareness to help you tune into your experience from within. This can help you develop a more connected and compassionate relationship with your body, whilst still enjoying the physical benefits of yoga.
Vinyasa Flow Classes £8
Flowing yoga classes combining movement and breath, with opportunities to build strength, flexibility and body awareness.
Accessible and welcoming, with options to adapt the practice to suit your own body and experience.
Open to everyone · All levels welcome
Regular classes are held at the following venues:
Wickersley Community Centre and Library. 286 Bawtry Road, Wickersley, Rotherham. S66 1JJ
There is a small free car park, and free parking on the street. Enter the building through the front entrance and turn left into the main hall downstairs.
Kiveton Park and Wales Village Hall. Walesmoor Avenue, Kiveton Park, Sheffield. S26 5RG.
There is a large car park with free parking. Enter through the main doors and straight ahead into the hall. If the front door is ever closed you can enter down the left side of the building.
Please note: you are welcome to turn up to Vinyasa Flow class without booking and pay cash / bank transfer on the day, however it is helpful to book online so I know how many attendees to expect, and to ensure there is sufficient space. Do bear in mind that if you arrive without booking there may be no space available although I always do my best - some classes can get quite full!
Slow Flow & Restore £12
A slower-paced, more spacious yoga practice, creating time to explore movement, breath and body awareness.
With a particular focus on releasing tension, settling the nervous system, and reconnecting with the body.
Expect gentle, exploratory movement, longer stretches, and an emphasis on the breath, with more time to settle into each movement.
A grounding practice which aims to leave you feeling refreshed and calmer than when you arrived.
Open to everyone · All levels welcome
Regular classes are held at:
Todwick Church Hall. Lindley’s Croft, Todwick, Sheffield, S26 1HN.
Todwick Church Hall has a small free car park next to the playground, and free parking on the street. Walk through the gate onto the church grounds and the village hall is on the right hand side. Classes take place in the main hall.
